Prior to opening Constitution CrossFit, Coach Mike was a special projects leader for a global contracting company who oversaw the implementation of a computer-based military platform for the Armed Services. Mike is also an Army Officer who completed a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004, Operation Iraqi Freedom II. In the summer of 2018 Mike will retire from the Army after 23 years of service.
Mike also works for CrossFit, Inc. Since 2012 Mike has been a Regional Director for the South Central, Atlantic and South Regional. In 2017, Mike became an Executive Director for CrossFit managing and overseeing two CrossFit Games Regional Events. Mike has been part of the CrossFit Games Event Team since 2012 assisting with CrossFit Games volunteer and staff logistics, volunteer management and Event Team Staff Services.
Coach Mike is a staunch supporter and advocate for our Military Veterans and Wounded Warriors. Since 2010, he raised over $100k for various Nonprofits to include Operation Comfort, Wounded Warrior Foundation, The Mission Continues, and Special Operations Warrior Foundation. When not CrossFitting, you will find him spending every second with his wife, four kids, their dogs (Ren and Blue), listening to 80’s music, or at their other gym, CrossFit Optimistic. Mike ensures the lights are on, workouts posted, gym swept, and bathrooms cleaned. His personal mission is to ensure when each athlete walks out our doors, they’ve left one step closer to reaching your fitness goals.
Mike holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland at College Park. He holds the CrossFit Level 1, Olympic lifting, Rowing, Kids and Endurance certifications. Mike is also a USA Track and Field Level 1 coach.
